A recent report from Flurry estimates that games released on Android and iOS will make around $1.9 billion in combined revenues in the US this year. That’s more revenue than Nintendo DS and Sony PSP games combined. Nintendo’s likely to get hit the hardest. It had a 70 percent market share in 2009, easily fending off the mobile sector’s 19 percent share. But by 2010, Android and iOS took a threatening 34 percent of the market, and will have a full 58 percent by the end of this year. …

AP – Though the original “Saints Row” was thought by many to be riding the epic crime coattails of “Grand Theft Auto,” the video game’s 2008 sequel did an admirable job of beginning to develop its own over-the-top identity.

AP – U.S. retail sales of video game hardware, software and accessories rose 1 percent to $1.08 billion in October, helped by sales of “Battlefield 3,” market researcher NPD Group said Friday.
